About the ringing

St Chad's is the spiritual home of Birmingham's Triples-ringing, a tradition pioneered by former Ringing Master John McDonald.  Ringing immediately after the main service, you can expect to hear first-class Stedman Triples on these majestic bells.

Peals of Triples, often Stedman but sometimes Scientific, variable-treble Grandsire, or a new principle, are attempted on occasional Tuesday evenings during the month.  It is always something challenging; as John McDonald said "there's no point in going for something we know we can get"!
